Our approach to game design is built on three major principles:
ATTENTION TO AESTHETICS
Our games are aesthetically pleasing. We craft our games from fine quality materials, such as hardwoods, through a process of precision manufacturing. And, we pay attention to the sizes, shapes and colors of our games, to create beautiful games which are as fun to look at as they are to play.
MENTAL & SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
Each game is designed to engage every player mentally and socially, through solid challenges of strategy and human interaction. Our game design philosophy is grounded in Garnder’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, and many of our games are designed to challenge more than one of the mind’s domains, including the visual-spatial, logical-mathematical, verbal-linguistic and the interpersonal.
SOLID GAME THEORY
Every game’s rules, strategies and other dynamics are built on a solid application of game theory principles. We pay particular attention to balance in gameplay, risk and reward, first-mover advantage and richness of strategic possibilities. And, of course, our games are designed to be played and replayed, with differences every time to keep you on your toes.
